By Matthias Lebo - Award-Winning Underwater Cinematographer
For as long as I can remember, the ocean's colors, textures, and rhythms have pulled at my curiosity and creative instincts. I have been scuba diving since 2004 and capturing underwater imagery since 2009, long enough to witness how much our tools and workflows have evolved.
Underwater storytelling has never been just about pointing a lens at a turtle or following a school of fish. It is about understanding light loss, movement, and behavior, then translating what we feel underwater into something people on land can connect with.
When I first encountered Divevolk, I did not just see another underwater smartphone housing. I saw potential: a chance to make underwater content création easier, more intuitive, and more accessible for divers everywhere.
The SeaTouch 3 Pro underwater smartphone housing
My relationship with Divevolk began in 2021, when I posted my first review and in-water test of the SeaTouch 3 housing on my YouTube channel. I wanted to see how the touchscreen behaved underwater and whether a smartphone system could really handle serious underwater filmmaking.
The result surprised me. Full touchscreen control was not a gimmick; it worked underwater. The interface was clear, and the learning curve was minimal. That first test was not the end of the story, it was the first chapter.
As Divevolk progressed, each model showed clear refinement in ergonomics, construction, compatibility, and real underwater usability.
Then came the SeaTouch 4 Max Platinum, a premium iteration shaped by user feedback and real-world testing. It felt like the pro version of an already capable system.
The "Mastering Your Seatouch 4 Max" online course
As my involvement deepened, the next logical step was creating the official Divevolk online course, Mastering Your Seatouch 4 Max.
The course helps divers quickly understand setup, practical shooting techniques, accessory choices, lighting basics, recommended apps, and care and troubleshooting. The goal was simple: remove frustration and accelerate the fun.
Standard smartphone camera apps are not built for underwater realities. So together with the UWACAM team, we focused on software designed specifically for Divevolk users and underwater creators.
The app continues to evolve with ongoing updates, shaped by field feedback and hardware innovation.
I have tested more underwater smartphone housings than I can count. Many are decent, some are good, but few feel complete in real diving conditions. Divevolk paired with UWACAM delivers that complete experience.

Looking back at my first Divevolk test and comparing it to what we have built together, from hardware and education to software and creative workflows, the progress has been remarkable.
The mission has stayed the same: make underwater storytelling easier, more intuitive, and more rewarding for everyone.
"If you are ready to capture ocean beauty effortlessly, Divevolk and UWACAM are the perfect place to start. See you under the surface."
